Incorrect Exposure at Celebrity Big Brother

For some reason I missed photographing the women going into the Celebrity Big Brother house for this seasons Celebrity Big Brother. Looking at some of the names I'm not sure if Channel 5 could be done under the trade description act. Anyway, I made the journey to catch the men going in Friday 5th January. I only knew 3 of them. John Barnes (footballer) Shane Lynch (Boyzone) and Wayne Sleep (a dancer).

One contestant I didn't know was a male drag artist called Shane Jenek, known professionally as Courtney Act. Their introduction to the world of big brother certainly caught them with a lack of underwear. As he walked down the steps, he managed to catch his dress and whoops, of it came, exposing tape to hold things in. People close enough behind would have also saw a few things they weren't expecting to see. Perhaps, when he finally leaves the house down the steps, he'll consider putting on some underwear to at least save some embarrassment.

Emma Willis outfits during Big Brother 2013 p1

When I started Photographing Big Brother, it was still a really popular program. Ratings dropped and It switched to channel 5. A really popular program for them. Davina was a great host on c4, but she always wore black. Not great for the fashion pages.  Emma Willis took over and remains the main reason I still continue to photograph the evictions and launch of Big Brother. Compared to Emma Willis who now hosts the show, who wears colourful outfits. Great for the fashion pages. I've decided to go through my pictures for each years Big Brother and put all the outfits together. My woman's fashion brand knowledge is non-existent so I can't tell you any details about the outfits. I'm sure you'll agree, Emma looks good.

Big Brother is now back in full swing with a new set of housemates. One being evicted on the opening night. I bet he was pleased. It's nice to photograph Emma Willis each week. She usually wears something colourful which always makes for a nice picture. While I know many women like black, bright colours make a much better picture.

Do you have any favourite housemates. The Second (or first) to be evicted was Adjoa Mensah, she seemed quite willing to pose for pictures on the way out. I am now busy playing bass guitar for an Elvis Tribute Act with Lee Memphis King as Elvis, so it's possible I may miss a few friday night evictions.

It's been a while since I've last updated this photoblog. I have been busy mostly with a company photographing private events. However, I have recently been back doing the Big Brother evictions. The lovely Emma Willis is now hosting the show and it's worth going just to see Emma in opinion. 

The normal Big Brother has finish and now on the Celebrity Big Brother part of the show.

Caroline Monks Party

I would guess many people would say "Who is Caroline Monk". She is Cancer survivor and hosted a party to celebrate the women involved in her cancer makeover campaign. She is also a PR and is involved amongst others the mercury prize awards. I did attend (as a photographer) a previous party of her's which was so well attended by celebrities, it was possible the same could happen on this occasion. Luckily it didn't and a few turned up, including Nicola Mclean who was recently in Celebrity Big Brother.

My Flash cable decided to stop working, I could only use the flash mounted on the top hot shoe, which tends to leave a horrible shadow in the background. On the link above, are my pictures, plus those from another photographer, you can see my pictures are slightly brighter, but also have the shadow in the background right.

Ultimate Big Brother Final and Parties to Follow

The end of Big Brother (or is it) with the final on 10th September. If you watch big brother you will know who the winner is. Here I have presented a favorite picture of mine from the Ultimate final. I wasn't a fan of the program, it was however great to be at the eviction nights. The crowd were great and I got friendly with a few regulars. In this picture is the winner Brian Dowling with the shows presenter Davina McCall. I wanted to try top capture spirit and excitement of the event,  with the house in the background the other photographers and camera crew. Taken on the wide angle 17-40 mm lens.

Naturally following the end of Big Brother is the wrap party.  Sadly, I found out about this too late and missed many of the housemates who arrived before I got there. Similarly, Josie had a reunion party later the same week. Again, I expected they would all arrive later in the evening, once again, they were early.

As many followers of the show will know the winner of Big Brother is Josie Gibson. I'm sure you have all seen pictures in the news by now. It is my aim to show you something different. At all the shows I have been to in the last few series there is always a warm up guy, Mathew Firsht. Mostly he tells the same stories and jokes each week. He does a great job of getting the crowd going. Rarely we see him with Davina McCall, as shown in the shoot to the right. Camera Operator

Lastly from the final show. I've always noticed a few camera operators up high. They can't go anywhere once the show starts, if it rains tough. So below one of the many camera crew that bring you Big Brother. Finally a picture from the Final of Big Brother; Josie Gibson, the winner.

Just as I went to push the post to blog button, my late catch up of big brother revealed that Laura (2nd from R) had already left the house. No staying power some of these contestants. Not that I'd want to go in the house.

Sunshine evicted from Big Brother then is goes dark

Yvette Martyn, better known as Sunshine in the last series of Big Brother, became the third housemate to be evicted from the house. If your a big brother fan, you will know that already. Moments after her eviction there was a power failure in the area and the house was in darkness. The live episode went off air. As the eviction is filmed for a few reasons, 10-15 minutes a head of transmission, viewers would have got a blank screen before hand, In fact just before Bens stand up comedy piece
